About Viva Barista Cafe

Specialty Coffee Shop with single origin coffee beans

Located at 229 W 5th St, Winston-Salem, NC 27101, Viva Barista Cafe operates as a cafe serving Winston-Salem in North Carolina. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

Because this group is broad, judging a listing on freshness, turnover and how consistent recent reviews are tends to work better than judging by decor or price range alone. Most kitchens in Winston-Salem will adjust a dish for common dietary needs like gluten-free or vegetarian if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: diners and fast-food chains often stay open late or around the clock, while bakeries and cafes tend to open early and close mid-afternoon. Catering and food delivery businesses in North Carolina usually require advance notice, from a day for a small order up to a week or more for a large event, so it is worth contacting them early.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. On most of those days it is open 7:30 am–3 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. More information is available on its website, instagram.com.

Customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 on Google across 58 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded cafes & coffee in Winston-Salem.

Winston-Salem is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Winston-Salem follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Kind quiet atmosphere. The owner has clearly worked hard to start his first business. Please come out and show support to young entreprenuers like him.

A warm-community feel envelopes you as soon as you walk in the door of this family-owned business. We’ve had interesting conversation every time we’ve visitedβ€”today it was Ricardo walking us through the coffee-making process from fruit to bean to the delicious beverages they serve. The product is rich and flavorful, but it’s not marked up, and they don’t use a lot of sugary syrups (unless you want that; I don’t). I also just want to say how cool it is to hear Spanish (or any other language besides English) spoken at a business in Winston Salem, where diversity representation in business can sometimes feel a bit lacking. They even allow (well-behaved, which ours sometimes is) dogs inside, which is unusual for a coffee shop in WS.

While away, I had seen the press and social media about Viva Barista, so, of course, I had to try it on my first day home β€” and it did not disappoint! Being a fan of nitro, I got the Vanilla Bean Nitro Float…and it may be my new favorite cold coffee! Rich, smooth, delicious: well-crafted. Carmen and Mia were working and were a delight to talk to. Looking forward to great coffee and good times at this wonderful new addition to Winston’s coffee scene. Such a wonderful story of youth entrepreneurship & drive and of family unity & support. Well done!

The atmosphere of this place is very peaceful and relaxing. The service was excellent, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The prices are average for today's market and very affordable. The only suggestion I have is to offer more bakery options to go with the coffee. For many Latinos, it's hard to enjoy such a delicious cup of coffee without a good piece of bread or pastry. Of course, I respect the business's vision and understand that the main focus is the coffee. I just believe that adding more fresh baked goods would make the experience even better. Highly recommended!

Cute little coffee shop. Great seating area to meet with friends. Friendly staff. Good coffee - got a flat white. It was good, not acidic but also not bold enough (however, that's personal taste). Would recommend overall. :)
